I had the most wonderful two-night stay. The newly refurbished double room was super cozy, and the bed was comfortable. Margaret treated us to lovely homemade cake in the afternoons, and the breakfasts were perfectly cooked. It reminded me of home, but better!

I was made very welcome throughout. The owner/staff were friendly, full of good advice, solicitous, thoughtful. I enjoyed their chat. They are obviously hard-working, keen to please, quietly efficient, interested in why I was in the area - though without being intrusive, of course. The owner even tried (successfully) to involve her teenage son in the business of welcoming by having him carry my case in from my car. I enjoyed my brief stay and will return later this year.
I have absolutely no complaints. See above.

Beautiful House, good off road parking. the welcome was second to non, lovely people.
On sat nav you tend to be sent to the other side of the motorway, not good.

My stay was primarily to explore Kilwinning Abbey and enjoy the local sights. I appreciated the lovely atmosphere of the stone house surrounded by trees, which made for a pleasant environment. The room I had was cozy and freshly renovated, which added to the homely feel. The breakfasts were a highlight for me, with a hearty selection that got my day off to a great start. Plus, it's conveniently close to attractions like the Kilwinning Abbey Tower and Heritage Centre, making it easy to walk around the area.

We stayed just one night. The room was nice, but smelt like cigarette smoke even though it was a no smoking room. The breakfast was really good. She was very helpful finding us a restaurant to eat at that night. Which was a really good place to eat by the Harbor.
It was kinda hard to find. You will need the street address. It smelled of cigarette smoke. The whole hotel did.

Margaret's hospitality at Nethermains House. Upon arrival, I was warmly greeted and offered homemade soup, a sandwich, and delicious apple pie. This thoughtful touch saved me from searching for local dining options. The room was spacious, clean, and equipped with an en-suite bathroom with a fantastic shower. Sleeping here was like a dream. Breakfast was served promptly, with a full Scottish spread of perfectly cooked options that set me up for the day. Margaret's local knowledge was invaluable, providing tips and insights. I did encounter an issue with the bathroom fans that emitted noticeable noise throughout my stay. While it didn't overshadow the overall experience, it was a distraction during quieter moments. Despite this, the warmth and comfort of Nethermains House were great. Would recommend it highly for those looking for a personal touch in their accommodation.

Really enjoyed our stay, we were greeted with a very warm welcome. the house was very homely and he landlady couldnt do enough to make us comfortable. Breakfast was perfect, made to order and was never a wait even when the dining room was full. Wouls recommend to friends and family and hope to visit again! thankyou :)
the only problem we came across was putting the postcode into the satnav which took us to wrong location so you are best off entering the full address of the lodge.
